Certifieddigital.com aka Certified Digital: Beware!

Certifieddigital.com pops up with the lowest prices on Google Products.  I’d be very, very careful in dealing with these guys.  Their “policies and services” web page is blank.  Their mailing address is a post office box in Brooklyn.

Resellerratings link.

PriceGrabber link.

Note that the reviews allegedly written by Paulpaz and Federico are identical on both resellerratings and pricegrabber.  Are we to believe that these guys were so ecstatic about their “deal” that they posted on two different websites?  Me thinks not.  I call bullshit on what I believe are fake positive reviews.   If you have a return address for these guys, please send it to dave.michael@rocketmail.com

Lycos shopping lists their address as follows:

Corporate Address: 1414 Ave P

Brooklyn, NY 11229

Certifieddigital.com - in one word - CROOKS! They had the 'best price' but after a week of trying to get in touch with them (after I placed the order on-line) to verify the order, they were going to add $199 for insurance!!! STAY AWAY FROM THEM!

Thank you so much for the input, I was about to order a $440 camera for $225 on Cyber Monday from Certified Digital. Luckily I searched for customer input on the seller and found your blogger. Thank you, thank you!!!!

I wasn't as fortunate as the previous customer. I did place an order on Cyber Monday and never received the confirmation email. Contacted customer service and spoke with a man who was extremely rude and didn't solve anything. I filed a complaint and have requested cancellation of the order. Do not give these idiots any of your information.

Stay away from this business. I place an order for a Canon camera on one of their so call Cyber Monday deals. I never got any notification about the status so I called. Well guess what it not in stock but you have this better package for 150$ more. Looking back I was an idiot but I agreed. Imagine my shock when the bank calls about a pending charge for 930$ almost twice what I was expecting to pay. After asking twice on the phone and repeated emails asking to cancel I am told they can cancel it because may card is already charge and shipped. I then get an email a day later telling me it is processed and shipped.

Here’s what I did I put a block on my card so it can’t be charged. If they actually sent it, which I doubt at this point, I will return it unopened requiring a signature for receipt. After that it may take a trip to the lawyer.

Here's another tibit of information. Looks like fumfie.com
and Certified Digital are the same online store just a different page. This email was on the Certifed Digital contact page for a while info@fumfie.com.

Do not use this rip off company to buy anything from. You order online with free shipping. Then they charge you tax and almost 6% of your order total in insurance, which is crazy.

Then when you cancel the order within 24 hours for a full refund because of these ridiculous charges. They lie and say it already shipped and you lost the insurance cost and are charged a 50 dollar package return fee. However, when I asked them for the UPS tracking number I was told we don't have to provide me with that information(because the package was never shipped.)

This place is a total scam and customer service is rude and terrible.

Finally got my order canceled but had to accept a $59 fee to do it. Here’s a link everyone should see http://www.bbb.org/new-york-city/business-reviews/electronic-equipment-and-supplies-wholesale-and-manufacturers/certified-digital-in-brooklyn-ny-90325/. I think their grade should tell you everything you need to know about them.

I really need some assistance with these guys. I recently purchased a camera and in the end I have a pending account fee that is for over 1600 dollars...several hundred more than I intended to pay. I have tried to cancel the order and they are avoiding both my calls and my emails. Any help and advice that I can get would really be appreciated.

I wish I had thought to check these guys out before purchasing. I was lured in by the cheapest price on-line. NEVER AGAIN! I purchased the Nikon waterproof camera and got an e-mail the next day to call before my order could be processed. I talked to a guy with a fishy accent and was told that it only came with a 20 minute battery and that I needed to upgrade to a rechargeable battery. Stupid me, I fell for it and accepted the upgrade. This guy also told me I would still get the free shipping. I get the package 10 days later and there's only 1 battery and a $24 shipping and insurance charge. So, I thought that I would just return it, but, wait, there's a 15% restocking fee, which I learned after waiting on hold for 20 minutes only to be told that I needed to go on-line to complete a form. So, not wanting to do that, I suck it up and call to complain to see if I can recoup any of my money. First, I waited at least another 15 minutes on hold. Then I talk to the same guy who 1 hour earlier had told me that customer service didn't open until noon. Then he just transfers me out of no where. I finally get to talk to someone who sounds nice and helpful, but once again I was deceived. He tried to tell me that they sell wholesale, so that their cameras don't come with a rechargeable battery, only retailers have that. Whatever. So, then I ask about the shipping charge, which wasn't supposed to be there. Oh, that's just the insurance fee that was not disclosed at the time of purchase. He then puts me on hold so that he can supposedly listen to the telephone conversation from when the upgrade was made. He comes back and tells me that he doesn't have a recording for that date. So, I said that that was very convenient and that it sounds very shady and that I don't like being lied to. He then proceeded to yell at me and tell me that there was no one higher than him that I could complain to unless I wanted to talk to Obama... or something like that. What the heck?! I wish there was something that could be done to shut these guys down because they are obviously dishonest and trying to scam people out of their money. Too bad I learned my lesson too late.

Thank you all you folks because I searched and found this after I received the email to call them to finish my order. Since this I have called my credit card and advised them of the place. The credit card company highly recommended I allow them to reissue me another card with new number as the spammers have your Credit card info and can at anytime use that info to charge your cards.. unless you have that number canceled and get a new one from your credit card company.. BEWARE and TAKE CARE. I did

I did not see this until after I made my purchase. I never received confirmation of my order so I called to make sure they received it and this guy talked me into a lot of upgrades which increased the price of my purchase considerably. I was told I will receive a tracking number once my purchase shipped but a week later, I had not received it. I called to tell them I better get confirmation it was already shipped or I will cancel and that's when I get the tracking number - the camera was shipped later that day after the phone call. Had I known it had not shipped, I would have cancelled. I have since tried to cancel but I keep getting their supposedly "call center" and he keeps telling me to call the next day. I wanted to save money; I feel like I was ripped off, instead.
